Ruffles & Ribbon
Finished!!!!! I received an order for this Baby blanket on January 22nd... and the shower was February 5th! I had made this pattern once before so I new I had time, but I didn't want to be down to the wire so I have done nothing but crochet for days!!! :( My wrist was actually starting to ache from the amount of time I spent on this thing! LOL! I used pattern #14 Ruffles & Stripes from the Leisure Arts book #3267 Best of Terry Kimbrough Baby Afghans
The only change I made was to make the center solid rather than striped. I think it makes the ruffles pop out even more this way. :)
I'm now working on pattern #19 Charming from the same book for my cousin and his wife's bun in the oven! They're expecting a boy!!!! I haven't had the chance to make very many boy blankies so I was tickled, plus it's a surprise for them!
When I knew Resident Evil: Afterlife was close to being released my little man and I started watching the 3 previous movies together. I had hoped my daughter would also watch them so the 3 of us could spend some time snuggled in bed giggling and fighting over who has more blanket but she wasn't interested. :(
We finally got to watch the latest movie and my son was soooo impressed with it! LOL! My husband actually popped into the room to see why we were making so much noise! LMAO! There were a few parts that we couldn't resist talking over during the movie. I'm so glad he's 11 now and can hold a decent convo about everyday things!!! We enjoyed ourselves immensely and he's already talking about a 5th movie! ♥
The three of us have also been watching Prison Break on Netflix. We watched the last episode last night! The kids weren't die hard viewers like me so I had to keep catching them up when they would decide to pop in and catch an episode. I have a DVD of Prison Break: The Final Break. It's supposed to be a continuance of the season finale... I'm sceptical but we are gonna watch it tonight when the kids get home from school.
I'll try to remember to post a review later! ;-)

Angel Hair
Yum I made Angel hair alfredo with ham for dinner a couple nights ago :) It was fantabulous!!!
Last night my hubby made me chili for dinner and my son made me banana bread!! I love being spoiled ♥
I've been working on more handwarmers and neckwarmers last week and this week!
I made my friend Angela a pair of handwarmers

I've been working on more handwarmers and neckwarmers last week and this week!
I made my friend Angela a pair of handwarmers
and a pair for her 3 year old daughter too :)
This was the 1st smallish pair I've ever made and they turned out adorable :) Here's a picture of them on.
Tonight I finished a pair of handwarmers and a matching neckwarmer for my cousin Michelle.
I wanted to make the handwarmers with the same homespun I used on the neckwarmer, but they were just too bulky so I ended up using black Caron Simply Soft for them, then the last row is in Homespun Edwardian to match up with the neckwarmer. :)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they turned out!!!
I had to run to petsmart to buy cricket food for my son's frogs Benjamine & Thomas and stopped into Michael's while I was in the area. I originally was looking for a gold pen for my mom but of course wandered back to the yarn section. :) A ton of their yarns were on sale and I ended up with some beautiful Loops & Threads Impeccable in the colorway Luxury Ombre for only $2 a skein!!!! I'm looking for a pattern to use it on now :)

Give me 45 minutes
and a ball of yarn and I'll return the favor with a pair of these cozy handwarmers!
I made my sister's girlfriend a pair from a different pattern last year and Ash confiscated them, so I decided to make Ash a pair of her very own! I used Caron Eco in "Forrest Floor" for Ashley's.
Since they worked up so quick and are so soft and warm Caitlyn declared I should also make some for us!
Hers are done in Caron Simply Brites "Watermelon".
Mine are done in Caron Simply Soft "Autumn Red" and some dark gray that I don't remember the name of.
I'm also working on a Gir hat for Cait. She loves the cartoon Invader Zim and I saw some patterns on Etsy, but didn't want to spend the money :( I decided to make a simple earflap hat and added the embellishments. I'm still working on the eyes. I had trouble with the size the 1st 2 times I started on them... I have one almost finished and I think it's a good size this time around! I'm hoping to finish them up in the morning. :)
I'm not in love with his nose, but I gave up on it. I think when I make the next one for my son I might just stitch it directly onto the hat to get a better shape!

I'm-a just Mad about Saffron. She's just mad about me.
They call me Mellow Yellow. Quite Rightly.
I had that song in my head the whole time I was making these booties yesterday!!
I used the pattern Two Button Moccasin which can be bought here. I love how they turned out and I'm thinking of making a 2nd pair in green with dark green trim and adding a mouth... they make me think of a little frog :)
I'm still working on stuff for my little cousin's arrival so maybe I'll make them for him too and Cait said I need to crochet up a matching froggy earflap hat!!!
YAY! My kids are back in the swing of things at school! They seem to be happy to be back... probably because I had been doling out chores left & right the last week they were home! LOL! We got the house cleaned up, the fridge cleaned out, their rooms clean, etc. They might think they are on vacation now that they're back in school!
I also finished up this pair of baby shoes for my Cousin's baby. The pattern can be bought here.
Sorry this picture isn't fantastic... they are both shaped like the one on the left. I must have squished the right one when I sat it down and didn't notice until after I uploaded the picture from my camera. :(
I really like the patterns from this etsy shop! They are easy to read and the items have turned out adorable so far!!
I was pretty productive yesterday I got the floors done, talked to a good friend I haven't seen in a long time and finished up a last pair of shoes made from this pattern. They are bigger (for a 6-12 month old) so I think I might add some slip proof dots to the bottoms with puffy paint.
Oops I lost the picture :( I'll add it in later tonight! ♥

Sugar & Spice
Today was the first day back to school for my kids. :( I thought I was looking forward to the alone time, but I miss them!!! LOL! I hope they have a great 1st day back! They were off for so long it's going to be hard to jump right back into the school routine I'm sure.
I know they'll tell me all about it when they get home this afternoon.
I just finished up a cute earflap hat you can find the pattern here.
and baby booties to match :) Here's the free pattern for the Booties. They work up super fast and I think they are absolutely adorable!
I used Caron simply soft colorway watermelon for both and some little roses from my crafty stash. Today I'm working on another pair of baby shoes for my cousin's baby. I'll post later about them :)
